Committee Chairperson
- Lead/organize various aspects of band events
- Coordinate volunteers for help, publicity/communications
Pit Crew Lead
(see Pit Crew Lead under Marching Band Pit Crew)
Homecoming Dinner Chair
- Organize all aspects of event
- Coordinate with Booster Board to solicit volunteers, marketing and publicity information/services, and vendors
Pancake Breakfast & Craft Fair Chair
- Organize all aspects of event
- Coordinate with Booster Board to solicit volunteers, marketing and publicity information/services, and vendors
Fundraising Activity Chair
This position is needed for each fundraiser activity (Marcus gift certificates, butter braids, etc.)
- Organize all aspects of activity
- Coordinate with Booster Board to solicit volunteers, marketing and publicity information/services, and vendors. For each fundraising event, the Fundraising Activity Chair will work cooperatively with the Vice President of Fundraising (Fundraising Coordinator) to conduct the fundraiser.
SCRIP Coordinator

Run the SCRIP gift card fundraiser monthly. (This is can be done completely from home, and doesn't require much time)
Fundraising Event Help
- Assist Fundraising Chair by coordinating a fundraiser and/or helping to sort items upon delivery
Spirit Wear Sale Coordinator
- Work with local spirit wear vendor to select logo and clothing items to be offered for spirit wear fundraiser and the show shirts
- Run the sale, pick up from vendor and coordinate delivery of the items to school.
Marching Band Pit Crew
The pit crew is needed at all competitions and football games to help with the following:
- Load instruments onto truck before competition
- Unload instruments from truck at competition
- Setup instruments/props on field, remove from field
- Load instruments onto truck at competition
- Unload instruments from truck after competition
Pit Crew Lead
- Coordinates with Band Director on placement of equipment and front line instruments on field for marching band competitions
- Coordinates with Vice President of Volunteers (Volunteer Coordinator) to solicit Pit Crew volunteers
- Secures and drives the rental truck for each event (may be a separate role, if necessary)
Pit Crew Lead Trainee
- Work with Pit Crew Lead to help with help load truck and learn the duties of the pit crew lead.
Marching Band Competitions
Marching Band Food Coordinator
- Plan, shop and coordinate meal for before competitions
- Location TBD by timing of event, but usually served at school
- Organize Marching Band Food Helpers volunteers (see description) needed the day of event to set up, serve, and clean up

When Eating at Competition
- Organize food/drinks and serving items from band room and make sure it's loaded onto bus/truck
- Setup tables and food at competition
- Clean tables and food at competition
- Organize food and serving items in band room after competition
When Eating at School
- Organize food/drinks and serving items from band room
- Setup tables and food/drinks
- Clean tables and food/drinks

Marching Band Bus Parent
- Accompany students to competition on bus
- Ensure that all students are accounted for before leaving school/competitions
- Assist students at competition (when to disembark after arrival, uniform changes, embark for departure)
- Bring the extra uniform and sundries bag
- May also assist as "Plume Helper" (see description)
Marching Band Plume Helper
A plume helper is needed at all competitions and football games.
- Load plumes onto bus before competition
- Setup plumes to prepare for installation
- Install plumes onto shakos before competition
- Remove plumes after competition
- Load plumes onto bus
- Offload plumes from bus and store in band room
Additional Marching Band Season Help
- Decorations Lead - coordinate and implement decorations for the band room to be decorated ahead of the state competition.
- Decorations Team - implement decorations for the band room to be decorated ahead of the state competition.
- Cookie Baking - bake cookies for competition days. Cookie dough will be provided.
Band Camp Week
Band camp is held for 1-2 weeks each August and is the kick-off for marching band season.
Social Event Coordinator
A team-building social event for band members is held on an evening during band camp week.
- Selecting location, communicating event with families and students
- Collect money from students
- Act as chaperone/parent contact for the event.
Shoe and Glove Order Coordinator
- Collect size information and prepare shoe order
- Review glove stock and reorder gloves as needed
Other Roles
- Uniform Fitting - help students select properly fitting uniforms, including gloves and shoes.
- Photographer - take photos of individual students in uniform for band buttons and senior banners. Take large group photo of all students in uniform. Coordinate timing with director.
- Equipment Review - evaluate the percussion front line carts to ensure in working order, repair if needed
- Sound Board Lead - set up the sound board for the front line instruments. Good to be available for some Tuesday night rehearsals as well.
- Band Camp Assistant - Assist the Band Director with various needs during Band Camp. One or multiple days.
